The most picturesque section of the Hopi Pueblo of Walpi is perched on the very top of the narrow First Mesa in northeastern Arizona. At one point, see here, the mesa narrows to only 15’ wide. This image, originally photographed between 1880-1900, captures the rugged environment and hints at the spectacular view afforded of the surrounding territory. We believe our generous-sized art print is as rich in detail as any you’ll find of this image.
Please see our Hopi Pueblo images of Shungopavi (Second Mesa) and Oraibi (Third Mesa). The three make a splendid set, framed together or separately.
