Roman Races were another much-anticipated and daring event in period rodeos. In some, like this one, staged at the old Playfair Racetrack in 1915, men and women riders competed head-to-head. We don’t know who won, but it looks like a close one to us. The riders are Mayme Saunders and a cowboy identified only as “Seale”.
