Nearly 100 years ago, before women won the right to vote and when ladies were still discouraged from riding astride, Alberta Claire, The Girl from Wyoming, made an 8,000 mile solo journey cris-crossing America on horseback. Accompanied only by her horse, Bud, a dog and the Colt revolver you see strapped below her waspish waist, she chronicled her adventures in newspapers and became a heroine to millions of women.
