Ambush! The cowgirl douses the campfire while her cowboy fires hot lead in the direction of the cowardly villains hiding in the darkness. Sure, it’s a bit melodramatic. That’s what the Pulp Westerns were about. But in its heart it’s also tribute to the genuine independence and self-reliance that mark the spirit of the West.
And a heck of a lot of fun.
The dark background and high contrast in this cover was a big challenge, but we finally got the colors just right and the scratches and rough spots from years of wear and storage smoothed out so it appears just as it did when it hit the newsstands over 70 years ago. Except scaled up in size to make an impressive showing in any home, office or place of business. And it pairs nicely with the other issue you’ll find nearby.
The “matte” border is the solid, printed-on color you see here – so you can insert it right inside a standard 16” x 20” or 18” x 24” frame. You may want to have your local frame shop cut a special matte to fit. Either way, it’ll be easy and economical.
Production will be limited to 200.
Like all our custom prints, it is produced using the highest standards of reproduction technology and fine archival paper. We ship it to you carefully rolled in a protective poly sleeve and heavy-duty mailing tube.
