"Living as we do, in the eternal NOW! it is but
faintly that we can mirror on the mind, the
existence of this country as it was but a little
while past."
COUNTRY GENTLEMAN,
September 1, 1853
Here’s a charming piece of the past. Venerable “Country Gentleman” Magazine was published continuously from 1830-1955 and provided American agriculturists with fiction, philosophy and political perspective as well as news of the latest farm techniques, agricultural science and implements.
The cover of this 1920 issue featured a cowboy and his paint, highlighting the month’s lead fiction piece. The magazine published weekly for many years, then monthly, and showcased the work of many great American artists including N.C. Wyeth, Norman Rockwell and Lynn Bogue Hunt.
We’ve left only a subtle brown toning – the effect of age – around the edges and a few, small imperfections, but it appears mostly just as it did when it arrived in one of its 2-½ million subscribers’ mailbox right at 90 years ago. We make it available in both the 11” x 14” size, slightly larger than the original, and in the larger 16” x 20” format.
Like all our custom prints, it is produced using the highest standards of reproduction technology and fine archival paper. We ship it to you carefully rolled in a protective poly sleeve and heavy-duty mailing tube.
