This dramatic graphic might have been created by a contemporary artist, but it wasn’t. It was a straightforward advertising card for one of the “Ted Strong” western adventure dime novels of the nineteen-teens…penned by C. Edward Taylor.
“Ted Strong, leader of the bronco boys, was sitting on
the back of Sultan, his noble little black stallion, on the
ridge of a prairie swell, looking at the lowering sky.

…begins “Ted Strong in Montana, or With Lariat and Spur.”
The wildly popular books were reissued in the 1920’s by Strect & Smith as part of the Western Story Library series and included “Ted Strong’s Motor Car,” “Ted Strong in Colorado” and many more.
Our Ted Strong will perform heroically in any environment, rustic or modern; home, office or business – and if your application calls for a larger version…we can make it. Just call to discuss the details and receive a cost estimate.
